UsAuchinlay was formed by Eric
Ferguson over 25 years ago to enable pet dog owners to train in Agility.
The team then went public and could be found performing at local fetes
and events for the enjoyment of the crowd. In fact, Princess Anne
has even enjoyed a performance by the group when the local Equestrian
Centre was opened by her in 1990.
Training has been updated as new methods are tried and tested. In addition,
we have moved into the sport of Flyball, which the dogs love doing and
audiences love to watch. It is fast action - a relay race combining
agility, dogs, tennis balls and a lot of noise!
Many
longstanding members compete in agility and obedience, having gained a
good foundation with the group, but the next day can be found making a
fool of themselves in front of an appreciative crowd at a gala day all
in the name of entertainment!
The
group can be found performing at a range of different events such as
agricultural shows, charity fundraisers, gala days and open days. Although
we can travel outwith the area for special events, we generally concentrate
on, and give priority to, events throughout the Forth Valley area.

We are a commited, friendly team and supportive of new members. Everyone gets involved and does their bit, training takes place three times a week; in all seasons, weather & light (or lack thereof!) All members are volunteers who enjoy training their dogs and work with the team purely for the fun of it, even when the weather's so bad we have to take refuge in Eric's specially built shelter!
